Well there wasn't a strict rule about that (updated), but it says:

I've noticed a large amount of topics here that have almost no specifications as to what the requester wants. To make it easier for the designers, give something that they can work with by telling them exactly what it is you're after.

Below is a simple template that you can copy paste into your topic so that the designers can finish the request a lot faster and make them closer to what you want in your graphic. Believe it or not, there are a few of us that ignore topics that don't give enough information. Simply asking for a banner with a word on it isn't very helpful.

However, please edit it to make it easier...
